How does ODAI Work?

Step 1:

Using your engine dipstick, collect a small drop of oil and carefully place it on the white printing sheet or chromatographic paper. Allow it to rest for the recommended ripening time (2 to 4 hours), which varies based on the oil's age

Step 2 :

Record Engine Information
Open ODAI and input your engine details for accurate analysis

Step 3 :

Scan the Oil Spot
Once the Oil Spot is ready, use ODAI to scan the resulting spot. Just press "Scan," and the app will capture the image. To ensure the most accurate results, please conduct the scan in daylight and not at night. Prior to scanning, make sure that the area around the oil blotter spot is free from any smudges, marks or shadows.

ODAI
Revolutionizing Engine Diagnostics with Photometric Blotter Spot Analysis

From the time-tested blotter spot test of the 19th century to the cutting-edge digital tools of today, ODAI represents the pinnacle of engine diagnostic evolution, seamlessly blending traditional methods with contemporary technological advancements. During the 1980s, photometry began to enhance the capabilities of the blotter test.Today, ODAI leverages this advancement, utilizing modern smartphone cameras to achieve a level of detail and depth of analysis that was once
unimaginable.

Oil analysts have long relied on the blotter spot method to detect excessive engine soot, assess the quality of lubricants (such as engine oil conditions), and identify contaminants like glycol and water. While effective, the method’s subjectivity can sometimes undermine result reliability. Recognizing this, our company has fine-tuned the blotter spot test by incorporating photometric techniques and advanced cloud-based oil analysis algorithms. This innovative approach offers a game-changing contribution to engine system diagnostics and prognosis. It not only delivers detailed interpretations but also provides a comprehensive guide on potential causes, enabling timely responses to detected failure modes.

We’ve elevated the traditional blotter spot method by integrating modern smartphone cameras and flash capabilities, ensuring crisp, high-resolution images. This advancement removes the inherent subjectivity and vagueness of manual techniques, yielding consistently accurate and unbiased results. The ODAI app serves as a comprehensive tool for evaluating oil conditions, soot and air intake systems, as well as water cooling and fuel system performance from automotive to marine lubricants. By comparing blotter spots to established reference standards, it ensures quantifiable and reliable insights into these systems.
